M Cubed FAQ

When was M Cubed founded?

2005... 2003... 1995... It all depends on who you ask. 2005 was when M Cubed released it's first commercial application though 2003 was when it was first called M Cubed. If you go all the way back before it was M Cubed you reach 1995 when an 8 year old Martin Pilkington made his first point and click game with Apple Media Tool and the paint tool in Appleworks and released it under MP Games. The remnants of MP Games can be found here. My how times have changed.

What does the M stand for?

At the moment, nothing. In the past, there was some close association with it being Martin & Matthew Multimedia (Matthew being one of the "co-founders"). But Matthew lost interest and all association was lost but the name stuck. And that brings us back to today...

What applications have you released?

A lot. All the way back when we were MP Games we had 3 games: Death Zone, Conquer and Snaps (don't ask, I was only 8). Since then we released a game called Ghosts of Time a few years ago that has now moved on. More recently we worked on iStory Creator which became iWriter, our first commercial product, and iReader. All of these have changed hands or gone to the big Trash can in the sky. Now we have 2 applications for you to play with: Minim and Code Collector Pro and a few freebies

Who works for M Cubed?

We currently have two staff members. Martin Pilkington is the lead programmer and has been with M Cubed since the beginning. In 2006, Joseph Bermann joined him and took up the role of UI designer.
